"And... The Oscar goes to..."Ajang penghargaan bagi film-film terbaik tahun 2011, 84th Academy Awards kembali digelar pada tanggal 26 Februari 2012 di Kodak Theatre, Hollywood, California. Academy Awards yang disiarkan langsung oleh siaran ABC kali ini dipandu oleh Billy Crystal. The Artist dan Hugo kali ini merajai Academy Awards dengan memenangkan masing-masing 5 penghargaan. The Artist sendiri berhasil memenangkan manusia emas untuk Best Picture alias film terbaik dan Best Actor untuk Jean Dujardin serta Best Director untuk Michel Hazanavicius. Sedangkan Hugo memenangkan sebagian besar kategori dalam bidang teknis. Meryl Streep yang memerankahn tokoh dunia Margaret Thatcher di The Iron Lady juga kembali menambah satu koleksi manusia emasnya lagi, sehingga sampai saat ini ia mengoleksi sebanyak 3 piala Oscar.
