Malam penganugrahan bagi industri film Hollywood telah resmi digelar, itu artinya selesai sudah awards season kali ini. Dipandu oleh Neil Patrick Harris, Birdman berhasil keluar dengan 4 buah Oscar, termasuk untuk Best Picture, Best Director, dan Best Original Screenplay, menjadikan Alejandro Gonzales Iñárritu dengan sukses memborong 3 piala dalam semalam. Sementara itu, The Grand Budapest Hotel juga mampu menyamai raihan total Oscar Birdman dengan kemenangan besarnya di berbagai bidang teknis. Di belakangnya, secara mengejutkan ada Whiplash, yang mampu membawa pulang 3 Oscar, termasuk Best Supporting Actor untuk J.K. Simmons. Sementara untuk Best Actor, dimenangkan oleh Eddie Redmayne, setelah kompetisi sengitnya dengan Michael Keaton dalam Birdman.
Di ranah Best Supporting Actress, seperti yang telah banyak diprediksikan, dibawa pulang oleh Patricia Arquette dalam film Boyhood, dan jangan lupakan speech-nya yang mampu membuat seorang Meryl Streep berdecak kagum. Dan, setelah sekian tahun, finally Julianne Moore won an Oscar! Setelah 4 nominasi dan 4 kali pulang dengan tahan hampa, di nominasi kelimanya, Moore akhirnya mampu membawa pulang sang piala emas lewat perannya sebagai penderita Alzheimer dalam Still Alice. Di dua kategori animasi, Walt Disney Animation menang besar. Big Hero 6 mampu membawa pulang Oscar untuk Best Animated Feature, sementara film pembukanya sendiri, Feast, juga mampu menyabet Best Animeted Short Film. Kalo film outer space lumayan banyak ya, ada Gravity, The Martian, Apollo 13, Sunshine, Moon, 2001, dll. Tp khusus Moon sm 2001 agak berat sih temanya, hehe
